From 17-21 October Nusa Dua celebrates the 13^th edition of its famous Art Festival, organized by BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Corporation), supported by all the hotels in Nusa Dua area. During 5 days, the visitors will enjoy some performances of Art, Culture, Sport and Exhibition and participate to Fun Games.

Occasionally we put some make-up on our guests, wrap them in traditional Balinese costumes and take a few pictures of them. The whole procedure (dress-up, make-up, shooting, take-off) takes about 2 hours.

You also may take pictures with your own camera. Our shots you’ll get burned on compact disc (and a selection printed) a few hours later on site, or delivered to your hotel the next day. Costs US$75 per couple, US$50 for single. Book at least one day in advance. Photo-shooting takes place during daylight.

The theme ‘Marine Life’ will be the highlight of this year’s Sanur Village Festival, which means many of the activities will be inspired from the marine life. The fourth festival of its kind is set for the 12 to 16 of August 2009 with activities such as traditional performances, parade, music, collaboration show, water sports and food festival as main attractions.

Just came across a “subjective Bali Best Beach list”, an informative article with short beach reviews and plenty of pictures, gives you a quick overview of beaches in Nusa Dua (Mengiat, Geger), Jimbaran (Muaya, Kedonganan, Balangan), Pecatu (Dreamland), Kuta, Legian Beach, Kerobokan (Batu Belig), Canggu (Echo), Sanur, Lovina Beach and Amed.

Ever wondered what time will be that sunset on that particular day at Tanah Lot or Uluwatu or Jimbaran beach? Sunrise in August at Sanur beach?  Local time now in Bali? How many hours time difference to Bali (GMT +8 hours, no daylight saving time in 2009)?

Time and Date shows you for any given day (between 1989 and 2029) rising and setting times (and many more parameter) for the sun and the moon. In detail:

• Time of sunrise and sunset; length of day; solar noon time, altitude and distance
• Start and end of astronomical twilight, nautical twilight and civil twilight

I came across these old recordings recently when reading Pete’s Bali diary.

The videos show life in Bali in 1910 and in the 1930s, precious contemporary documents.

This one is certainly not from 1946, these recordings were made most likely in the 1930s:
